The theme of İnci Holding’s traditional Cevdet İnci Commemoration and New Year’s party held at the Izmir Tepekule Congress Centre on 21 December 2012 was Hand in Hand Towards 2023. The star of the event was Vokaliz, the acclaimed a capella group. Winners of the Cevdet İnci Incentive and Success Awards received their prizes, and Meral Zaim İnci handed over the presidency to Board Member Perihan İnci, the youngest representative of the second generation. Following Meral İnci Zaim’s speech evaluating 2012, Perihan İnci explained İnci Holding’s targets and plans for 2023.

Meral İnci Zaim said, ‘Our turnover doubled to TL1 billion in the three years of my presidency. We are a holding company that profits and helps others similarly profit through a sustainable growth strategy. We are focused on our mission to reach the world’s top 1000 companies by 2023. We grew our profitability and productivity, and strengthened our financial structure thanks to excellent cash flow management and savings. By directing our income and savings to investment, and thereby growing employment and exports, we have served our country. We have invested in R&D and focused on innovation. Today, I hand over the presidency baton to Perihan İnci, in what is a good illustration of saying ‘Hand in Hand Through Generations’. From now on, I will carry on my duties as a Board Member, and keep supporting Perihan İnci and management as a whole.’

After taking over, the new President Perihan İnci spoke: ‘I believe in a future where we shall proceed with firm steps to add to the successes of the past 60 years since the establishment of our first company.

‘As I take the baton today, I would like to share with you my vision of a somewhat more distant future than the period of my presidency. This company’s roots lie in an Aegean village’s orange groves was due entirely to our visionary founder; we are, however, determined to take our place amongst the top thousand companies in automotive sector by 2023’.

Speaking of İnci Holding’s vision, Perihan İnci said, ‘We face four main development areas in our business. Our main field is energy storage. Imagine long-term energy storage in a light, practical, and an economic method. At this point we are as close to such an innovative approach as every other country. We shall create a paradigm shift in batteries. We are determined to take our place at the heart of electrical vehicles. Nanotechnology might open doors to lighter and stronger wheel designs. In the future, we might be designing and manufacturing the lightest wheels in the world. It is also possible to deliver our products to our customers faster and more efficiently. We will create this difference by strengthening our presence in the world and through our investments in logistics. Waste management, the new field of investment in our Group initiated by our own waste collection, will lead us rapidly to specialising and developing in this field. As the İnci Group, we can confidently state that the future belongs to us, thanks to our adaptability, ability to identify opportunities, R&D, technology, sales network, logistics and information technology infrastructure, and above all, with our invaluable manpower!’
