Pioneering the development of battery sector with groundbreaking developments, İnci Akü joins the National Champions in the Milicom Environmental and Corporate Sustainability category in the European Business Awards (EBA). The next step will be competing with its European competitors for the Ruban d’Honneur (Ribbon of Honour) soon. Turkey has 40 companies in the first assessment where 526 national champions are nominated from 31 European countries.

Assessing thousands of companies from different sectors throughout Europe in innovation, leadership, social responsibility, marketing, growth strategies, employee loyalty, process management, and customer loyalty, the European Business Awards provide businesses with the opportunity to prove their achievements across Europe, and are considered as one of the most prestigious organisations in the business world.

İnci Akü was ranked amongst the top 100 in the Turkey’s Most Valuable Brands list prepared by Brand Finance, an international brand evaluation consultancy. Its global branding drive has placed İnci Akü constantly on the rise in domestic and foreign markets, as the company’s achievements are crowned by awards.

Chairman of the Board and CEO of İnci Akü Göksel Paker remarked on İnci Akü’s nomination as National Champion to represent Turkey, and said, ‘Our achievements in the past 29 years followed our pioneering endeavours in our sector. It was us who introduced to concept of branding to our sector; today, our brand wins international awards. At present, we are the first and only battery manufacturer qualified to represent Turkey in the European Business Awards initiated for determining and supporting Europe’s most innovative and top companies. We are proud of being amongst the National Champions in the Milicom Environmental and Corporate Sustainability category. Today, we are the export leader of our sector exporting our products to 72 countries in four continents, proudly representing our company all over the world. Our actual sense of production gives priority to environment and sustainability. We have taken our place amongst the National Champions in this category for having a BREEAM-Certified facility, our Blue Sea Free Caretta project in Dalyan which involves transformation of diesel-powered boats into battery-powered, environmentally-friendly tour boats  – essential for the Dalyan Canal and Caretta Caretta turtles, as well as our İnci Akü Forests, and the support we give to projects based on green technology. Our aim now is to do our best to represent our country in the European Championship.’
