İnci Akü and GS Yuasa, the two leaders in the battery industry in Turkey and in the world, respectively, joined forces by signing a partnership agreement on 6 October 2015. İnci Akü AŞ becomes İnci GS Yuasa AŞ under the terms of the partnership with GS Yuasa Int Ltd of Japan.

İnci Akü, a subsidiary of İnci Holding, signed a strategic partnership agreement with GS Yuasa, a world leader in battery solutions. The procedure initiated by a Letter of Intent signed between two parties in April 2015 is finalised at the signature ceremony hosted by İnci Holding on 6 October 2015. This is the third foreign partnership signed in the past year that signals İnci Holding’s continued growth in domestic and international markets.

İnci Akü, Turkey’s export leader in the battery sector, joins forces with the Japanese giant GS Yuasa’s global experience and vast knowledge on new generation battery technologies. This partnership helps GS Yuasa leverage their presence in Turkey by investing in the region, and İnci Akü increase its turnover in the market with GS Yuasa’s global image and product range.

Speaking at the signature ceremony President of İnci Holding Perihan İnci said, ‘As a holding, partnering with pioneers in their fields strengthens us in international markets and supports sustainable growth. We will take firm steps towards our goal to become the market leader in Turkey and in the region as İnci GS Yuasa.’

President of GS Yuasa Osamu Murao explained that the İnci Akü plant in Manisa would become a manufacturing base for GS and Yuasa branded products as well, and added,

‘Turkey is a powerful key player in a region where GS Yuasa intends to expand its footprint: Middle East, North Africa, and Russia– Commonwealth of Independent States. The partnership deal with İnci Akü is very important in this respect. We intend to grow in the global arena. This partnership will strategically further strengthen both companies in the market.’
