The Cevdet İnci Commemoration and Tree Planting Ceremony held to in memory of the founder of İnci Holding took place on Sunday 15 April in Menderes. During the event, President of İnci Holding Neşe Gök spoke of justifiable pride in planting the 90,000th seedling as a result of the İnci Holding’s awareness of the need to create a ‘green and liveable’ environment.

1,500 new seedlings were planted

After the number of seedlings planted by İnci Holding had reached 90,000, company employees participated in a ceremony in honour of Cevdet İnci. Speaking at the commemoration, Neşe Gök said, ‘Today we are thrilled to fulfil a specific wish of our founder Cevdet İnci. We are proud to carry the flag which we took from him, a flag for a greener Izmir. The number of seedlings we have planted reached 90,000 this year. As the pearl of the Aegean, we believe we owe it to this land that has blessed us so.’

The values Cevdet İnci had forged into the company’s mortar reveal the roadmap that İnci Holding will always need, she remarked, and continued, ‘We are here to represent Turkey in the world to the best of our ability, and we recognise that we have a very long way to go. We shall proceed full speed ahead to maintain our contribution to the Aegean region, and our land and society in line with the increase in our strength.’

General Manager of the Aegean Forestry Foundation Metin Gençol said, ‘For 23 years since the start of the Foundation, İnci Holding has been tirelessly supporting afforestation. We thank the managers and employees of İnci Holding for their contribution to nature.’
